Is anyone else as excited for this as I am? And I'm not just talking the nekkidness of the picture. :D

Just came from a holiday parade where I one) watched very little of the actual parade because I stayed inside the restaurant where we met for dinner beforehand, because two) I totally was indulging in baby time with Godbaby #2. I was going to upload a snap I got of him smiling on my camera, but Lj is being a bitch so maybe later. He was so playful tonight! So much fun.

Anyone want to do my Christmas shopping for me? I'm like wayyyyyyyyyy behind on it. I've bought two things so far, both online from Cyber Monday. Why? Because I suck at getting gifts this year for some reason. It would be so much easier if I could get everyone I know a bottle of wine and be done with it. *sigh*

On another note, if anyone would like a Christmas card, leave me your address in a screened comment below! I found some cute ones I like, and since I already told my family I'm not sending them this year, you all get them instead. Let me know if I should use real name only, or real and Lj.

Who am I kidding, I'll still send cards to family, I bought like 50 of them. Hahaha! :D

Does anyone have an Etsy shop with cute gift ideas I could shop at? I have some money I've been saving in my PayPal account for Christmas, and my siblings and I all exchange gifts in the $5-$10 range. I'd rather buy local/small business than at a big box if I can help it.

Pimp your stuff or your friends stuff; let me send you my money! :D

Thanksies!!!

I'll probably keep posting publicly on why this is a Bad Move if they go through with this. Everyone who isn't a U.S. citizen, please be aware this will probably fuck you over, too, if they get away with it. ~ De

Website Blocking

The government can order service providers to block websites for infringing links posted by any users.

Risk of Jail for Ordinary Users

It becomes a felony with a potential 5 year sentence to stream a copyrighted work that would cost more than $2,500 to license, even if you are a totally noncommercial user, e.g. singing a pop song on Facebook.

Chaos for the Internet

Thousands of sites that are legal under the DMCA would face new legal threats. People trying to keep the internet more secure wouldn't be able to rely on the integrity of the DNS system.

Read this analysis from boing-boing.net

Get on the phone and call your representative. Express your disapproval. Tell him or her exactly how you feel, and that you don't support this. Tell your friends to call their representatives, their Congressperson, and complain. Mention that you are a registered voter that takes your civic responsibility seriously and that you will use that vote to express your feelings about this.

“We support the bill’s stated goals — providing additional enforcement tools to combat foreign ‘rogue’ websites that are dedicated to copyright infringement or counterfeiting,” the Internet companies wrote in Tuesday’s letter. “Unfortunately, the bills as drafted would expose law-abiding U.S. Internet and technology companies to new uncertain liabilities, private rights of action and technology mandates that would require monitoring of websites.”  The chamber-led coalition in support of the bill includes Walmart, Eli Lilly & Co. and Netflix.

Google and other opponents of the legislation argue that restricting the Internet in the U.S. sets a bad international precedent and that the language defines infringing too broadly.

Folks, I know you're tired of me yelling at you, but you should be aware that there's a hearing this morning being held by the US House Judiciary Committee on a "copyright" bill that will essentially break the entire internet.

You like the internet, right? I mean, you're here.

From the link above:

As drafted, the legislation would grant the government and private parties unprecedented power to interfere with the Internet's domain name system (DNS). The government would be able to force ISPs and search engines to redirect or dump users' attempts to reach certain websites' URLs. In response, third parties will woo average users to alternative servers that offer access to the entire Internet (not just the newly censored U.S. version), which will create new computer security vulnerabilities as the reliability and universality of the DNS evaporates.

It gets worse: Under SOPA's provisions, service providers (including hosting services) would be under new pressure to monitor and police their users’ activities. While PROTECT-IP targeted sites “dedicated to infringing activities,” SOPA targets websites that simply don’t do enough to track and police infringement (and it is not at all clear what would be enough). And it creates new powers to shut down folks who provide tools to help users get access to the Internet the rest of the world sees (not just the “U.S. authorized version”).

This is being framed as an attempt to fight hackers and pirates. Don't buy it. And don't think for a minute that it's going to stop there. This is bad. And at the hearing today, only one opponent of the bill is being allowed to testify.

Please do whatever you can to fight this. Email congresspeople. Sign petitions. Yell about it in every venue you can.

I need some Merlin/Arthur or Colin/Bradley as fathers ( mpreg, adoption, whatever doesn't matter)  like you wouldn't believe. Doesn't that little boy just look like the best little mix of them both? And wouldn't Arthur/Bradley be just the cutest "mum" to him?

Flist, this is me begging.... Please, rec me something that this pic could be part of!  I'm bouncing in anticipation and fluffy plot bunny-ness!!!  PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, back to your regularly scheduled Friday morn. Or in my case...

Alright, which one of you sent in this secret? [lol!]

lilyginny27: (Bitch is on Fire!)
I would be lying if I said I didn't have the best flist in the world. You guys ROCK MY SOCKS OFF! First you inundate me with Kisses and now chocolate men?!

Did I die?

Is this heaven?

Thanks so much [livejournal.com profile] enchanted_jae , [livejournal.com profile] flamingolady , [livejournal.com profile] protowilson , [livejournal.com profile] faithwood , [livejournal.com profile] kate0404 , [livejournal.com profile] khasael , [livejournal.com profile] alisanne , [livejournal.com profile] cassie_black12 , and [livejournal.com profile] nursedarry  for bringing this fantastically chocolate orgy of men in to my life. :D
lilyginny27: (Luke)
First, many many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] nursedarry for the noms. How did you know I needed a chocolate fix desperately?! *squishes you*

And Oh. My. God. Two months of free paid time!

Based on my flist, I'm not the only one who's been graced with this awesomeness today so either

1) Someone loves us and we must all scour our lists and use the process of elimination so we can narrow it down to whomever did it so we may glomp them properly

or,

2) there's credence to that rumor floating around where if you send/receive so many v-gifts, you get free time. This is when I'm guessing maybe all those kisses we sent last week were chock full of more pleasure than we could possibly imagine!!!! :D

Happy Tuesday!!!!!

lilyginny27: (Default)
Ahhh!!!!!!!!!

We had a major storm yesterday that totally swept through our area. I was stuck at work for literally 4 hours with absolutely NO power, and yet my boss wouldn't let any of us leave since it was supposed to come back on at Any. Minute. Not that any of us asked if we could leave; we knew better, but still -

Four hours!!!!!

I never twiddled my thumbs in the dark so much in my life. :(((

Of course, not only did the storm totally ruin my morning, it completely annihilated some of my lily's AND bent my corn completely over.  We tamped the corn back up as best we could, but some of the lily's were completely done for. One of them that I just got from my Grandma was completely snapped in half.

I didn't take a picture of it. Too painful.

But here's my corn mid-fixing, and some of the lily's that partially survived. I'll have better photos of everything else later. Everything in cages and/or trellised survived just fine as did my onions and pumpkin vines. So thankful! My little green tomatoes were all like "yo, what's up? Still here, still hanging. Good times, good times." :D

At the bottom you can see how far the corn got tipped, this was the initial tipping "back" more towards upright.

Don't mind the weeds. I hate weeding. LOL Weeds have feelings, too!

*pant pant* Wow, what a wild ride. I think I'll just rest here a spell.

Edit: I went and made unpublic the post this post refers to. It seems even mentioning that fandom brings out the crazies who deem I should be in the middle of things again, but in further digging, are only trying to instigate drama between me and the people that hurt me. I like fandom. I like it a lot; I don't like feeling used.

I love livejournal stats. I actually debate on what I want to click on here because of that feature. It's great at helping me to keep from looking at things I know will upset me, or have others see me seeing.

Also, I love it because it's so telling.

It seems I've had a larger number of users, and non-livejournal users alike browse my last post. I usually never get numbers like that unless I do a post at [livejournal.com profile] ohnotheydidnt  and people check me out because of a comment I made there. I can't remember the last time my own personal journal brought in double digit unique viewers, especially on a single post. Especially, the amount of people that AREN'T users that read it. You people creep me out!

Get a life. Move on. You'll be happier fanatics for it.

Eventually.

This, seeing my words being stalked [and probably being passed around by the registered users I saw read it. You creeps know who you are] gives me the creeps and isn't good for my mental health. Creepy, creepy, creepy fanatics of doom!

For the rest of you, welcome back. :) Maybe I should post publicly more often. Or, well, post more often period. I promise I will do so if people are interested only, I plan on posting happier things.

[Like porn.]

[Or my garden. I has corn that's thigh high, and a pumpkin patch, and a ton of tomatoes and peppers and table onions and basil and cucumbers and I don't even really like cucumbers!~ I should take pictures; their vines are just beautiful with all their yellow buds, as are my little green tomatoes. OMG and my lilies. They're breathtaking. ]

Peace out.

Think happy thoughts.
x

p.s. I hated writing this post. I feel like I'm stooping to their level. :(((((((((((

I've had a fabulous weekend so far in the garden and then with my sissie today in Monroe and Woodford. My little blue fist car got out and about this weekend! And my feet - they tried on so many different pairs of shoes, but alas, they did not make it home with me. *sigh* Maybe next time; someone was insistent I spend my money on her birthday present. Silly little sister...

I should eat dinner. #ishungry

I can't remember the last time I got so lucky. My profile is currently nothing but kisses; I feel so loved!

Now, which one of you was being all flirty and didn't reveal your name? So dirty hiding your identity like that. *blushes* *feels special* ;)

Thanksies to all!! *glomps!*

Well, today wasn't bad.  Decided t o go to the Sweeney Todd website and check it out to see if anything has changed since it premiered.  Spent a glorious half hour just listening to the audio clips.  The more I listen, the more I like Helena Bonham Carter's voice.   Her, Johnny, and lovely Alan all have such distinct voices that at times almost felt like they were just speaking.  It was weird, but the more I listened, the more I liked it.  I can't wait until I can buy the soundtrack.

So I love Fanfiction.  I do.  Right now I am majorly into the Harry Potter verse.  I was (still am?) a huge ss/hg shipper, but lately I've been branching out.  Read one Marriage Law, read them all!  Anyway, I was getting bored waiting for new stories to pop up that were longer than a one shot.  Right now I've been reading ss/hp.  Notice the similarities?  It seems I have a 'thing' for Severus.  I wonder why?  *snerk*

Anyway, here's my most recent read.  Can't remember how I found it, probably through [personal profile] snarry_reader.

Title: The Courtship of Harry Potter
Author: Diana
It's a mentor-type story with a bit of romance.  Very touching and romantic at the end.
